Extended services after a diagnostic

Project work on reporting, controls, and workflow is scoped from what your diagnostic finds. We also offer monthly oversight. Both are quoted separately in writing.

How follow-on work is offered

A diagnostic may point to work that we can take on after it ends. Whether to ask us for it is your decision. We will quote any follow-on work, including monthly oversight, in writing. You are free to use anyone, and we take no fees from vendors.

When it is offered

We offer it only after a completed diagnostic. Project work is offered only when the findings show it is the right next step, and it has to be specific enough to scope in writing.

The Decision Brief is written so that your own team, or advisors you already use, can act on it without us. An illustrative Decision Brief, prepared for a fictional firm, shows what that looks like.

How project work is scoped

  1. The scope comes from the diagnostic's findings.
  2. You receive a separate written quote that sets out the scope, a fixed fee, and the timeline.
  3. Work starts only after you accept the quote in writing.

Each piece of project work has its own written scope and ends when that scope is complete.

Monthly oversight

Each month we check your reconciliations, month-end entries, and financial statements, and confirm that approvals and sign-offs happened as agreed. Your own people do the close. If you need help with the close itself, we can quote that instead of monthly oversight.

Close help covers reconciliations, month-end entries, and financial statements. It does not include day-to-day bookkeeping. Pinnacle Apex Partners is not a CPA firm and does not issue audit, review, or attestation reports.

What it can cover

Project work stays within the areas a diagnostic examines. What it covers for your firm depends on what your diagnostic finds.

  • Reporting

How the monthly report is built and checked, and who owns each step.

  • Controls

Approval paths and sign-offs: who checks what, and what record each check leaves.

  • Workflow

The path from time entry to billing to reconciliation to the report, and the handoffs along it.

  • Operational decisions

Turning a decision the diagnostic clarified into ordered changes, each with an owner.

For example, if a diagnostic recommends deferring a controller hire, follow-on work might sequence the reporting changes the Decision Brief puts first and settle who owns each step.

The diagnostic comes first

Every engagement begins with the Decision-Clarifying Diagnostic: a fixed-scope review of how reporting, approvals, and work move through your firm, set out in three written deliverables.

The terms in this section apply to the diagnostic only. Follow-on work has its own written quote and terms.
