Brandon J. Jones, Managing Director

Brandon founded Pinnacle Apex Partners. He began his career with four years in audit at Deloitte. Pinnacle's diagnostic is for owner-led professional services firms and real estate companies that want to see how their reporting and approvals really run before they make a finance or operations hire, restructure, or change systems.

Relevant experience

Experience from Brandon J. Jones's prior employment and contract roles.

  • Audit, Deloitte

Began in audit, reviewing how firms record, reconcile, and document their financial reporting.

  • Specialized tax credit work

Documentation-heavy review of eligibility, records, and sequencing.

  • Real-estate accounting and financial operations

    Reporting, reconciliations, and controller-level workflow.

Prior professional role. Not a Pinnacle engagement.

Why the diagnostic exists

Across that work, the same pattern kept coming up. Capable owners made reasonable decisions in the wrong order, because no one had first set out where the work was stalling.

A firm might hire a controller when the real gap is who owns the close, or buy reporting software before anyone has agreed who signs off.

Those decisions are not reckless. They are made without clean information.

The Decision-Clarifying Diagnostic puts that information in writing before the decision is made: what is actually happening today, where the work stalls and why, and what should happen first.

Why reporting, controls, and workflow

The diagnostic's focus is deliberately narrow. Here, workflow means the path from the first record, such as a time entry or a rent receipt, to reconciliation, sign-off, and the monthly report.

The background fits the problem

Audit and real-estate accounting turn on the same questions: how a firm records, reconciles, and documents its numbers, and who signs off at each step. A late monthly report, or a queue of approvals waiting on one person, often traces back to those questions.

The evidence already exists

Close calendars, reconciliation logs, and approval trails are documents your team already produces. Each finding can point to one of them, so you can check the reasoning yourself.

The decisions are hard to undo

A finance hire, a change in who approves billing, or a new system is hard to reverse once it is in place. So the order matters. Every diagnostic ends with what to do now, what to defer, and what to avoid.

How the work is run

The aim is a decision you can defend, with the reasoning on paper.

  • Brandon J. Jones scopes every diagnostic, carries out the work, and writes the findings.
  • Each finding cites the evidence behind it.
  • Findings delivered in writing, on an agreed timeline.
